Dacsee Review
You probably heard about Grab and Uber right? Their business model is known to be successful, if you haven't heard about them yet, they focused on cab services. Other companies tried to compete with them, and in comes Dacsee.
Dacsee's name is short for “Decentralised Alternative Cabs Serving & Empowering Everyone”, their approach varies a bit from what we've seen in these kinds of businesses.
The Dacsee leader Alexander Von Kaldenberg states that they focus first on the drivers and then the passengers – as strange as that might sound – they reversed the priorities of the business.
There are plenty of offers like Delicab or ZeppOn that offer these kinds of services but Dacsee does something that others don't, we'll explain that in a second.
The first major thing is that Dacsee doesn't charge the usual 20% to 25% commission rate that the competitors do. Firstly, they’re not charging the typical 20%–25% commission rate charged by others in the same space. We found that the Dacsee e-wallet they offer to the public only charges 1-2$ commission.
The second point that's really interesting about Dacsee is that they have an incentive structure that looks a lot like an MLM opportunity.

Decentralized Ridesharing Platform
Through the Dacsee platform, users can pay via cash, debit or credit card. They aim to build a ridesharing platform that's also decentralized, this could help – according to them – passengers and drivers without overlooking authorities.
The Dacsee ride-sharing system doesn't earn money from commission fees or bookings as they announced in their launch. They're just here to compete against the giants that are leaders in the space currently.
Dacsee also says that these “Ride-sharing giants” get massive funding from entrepreneurs which they help to subsidize their prices. This model creates a bubble that can burst eventually.
Dacsee also mention that drivers' income is not sustainable because of the customer base ownership – it's normally controlled by the company – There are also some safety issues regarding the driver's selection process.
What's the alternative? Dacsee’s platform sees that passengers get to choose a driver they've met in the past. Also, every trip is monitored for safety measures, this is done with the help of the Dacsee Community.
This monitoring process doesn't end with the community – or the customer's opinions -, it's also valid for the driver-recruitment process.
Dacsee MLM opportunity
What about the outside funding that Dacsee thinks as a problem? The company tries to balance that out using an MLM modeled system.
By using this system, drivers can recruit other drivers to make their own fleet. This fleet can grow up to three levels. After a passenger has a successful trip with a fleet, the owner gets a commission – the money goes to the company's wallet – for it.
You might find this similar to an MLM opportunity that works with trees and levels and earnings rise if you recruit more people.
The similarities with MLM end there. We've just mentioned that this fleet-tree structure can grow three levels down.
About the incentive, it only makes 1-2% of the revenue, that's significantly lower than we normally see in most MLM, high percentages are meant to recruit more members, that doesn't seem to be the case with Dacsee.
Regarding transactions, these are transparent and registered via blockchain. They use Ethereum for this and are working to develop their own blockchain. It contributes to the incentives for recruits and it's transparent for the regulating entities.

Dacsee Tokens
As for payment, the 1–2% commission – that go to drivers and referees – is given in Dacsee Tokens. These tokens are Ethereum ERC20 tokens that customers use for paying rides.
The Dacsee Tokens are given automatically with the help of the Ethereum network. Dacsee has a Wallet App in the Google Play Store.
Dacsee Tokens can be exchanged for regular money through the use of authorized cryptocurrency exchange
Transparent Transactions Using Blockchain
The team behind this company uses blockchain in order to keep everything transparent. Community-driven is one of the goals for the developers.
This company sure shakes things up, it brings two hot businesses together, an Uber kind of service with an MLM structure.
We clearly see that Dacsee approach is to be an answer to some drivers complaints about payment – and passengers about safety -. This model looks like an interesting alternative to each of one's problems.
The 5,000 registered drivers speak about the interest that drivers have for the network.
Conclusion
Having said all of the above, the concept is appealing indeed. The only potential problem comes from whatever happens inside the company. Things can go south if malicious drivers get and admins don't do their job on time.
As for intentions, Dacsee looks to be as legal as they can before going out to the public next month – they mentioned their launch later in April.
The question is, is this really going to work? Or is it just another idea that will be too ambitious for its own good? Time reveals all :). We will just have to wait to see what the future bears for Dacsee.
