Growth Of The Social Media And Its Stats

There has been a tremendous growth of the social media… over the last decade… and this has become an effective marketing tool… for the affiliate marketer.

Facebook has close to 1.5+ Billion active users… who use the site monthly. On top of that, these users collectively generate approximately 4.5 Billion likes every day!

Would you believe if someone was to tell you… that there are over 2.1 Billion people with social media accounts!

The Snapchat users watch close to 4 Billion videos per day… and that Pinterest has 100+ Million monthly active users… who spend close to 20 minutes per session.

Since 2011, SEJ (Search Engine Journal) has published two info graphics… about the growth of the social media. The first one was published in August 2011… while an updated version of it was posted two years after.

However, I personally have my reservations about LinkedIn… as the last I heard was the number of users was close to 400 mills. Having started in 2003, this figure would be more realistic than 97 mills.

Personally, I reckon social media has done nothing but divide the marketplace making it harder for the SMB to be heard.

While the above definitely reflects a huge value, again I personally am of the view that using social media is equivalent to shouting your message at a chock-a-block baseball stadium. In other words, the numbers are great, but if nobody can hear or understand you, then these figures have no meaning.

Another interesting fact for those internet and affiliate marketers. It is good to know that about 50 percent of internet users are on Facebook, and close to 40 percent of the users on Twitter are likely to buy from a brand that they follow.

You need to have the proper tools for marketing your content as well as your affiliate marketing.
